The First-Ever NHL Certified 3D Printed Hockey Helmet Liner

Creating a revolution design for hockey helmet, CCM Hockey and Carbon manufactured the world’s first hockey helmet with NEST (Next Evolution Sense Technology) using Carbon Digital Light Synthesis TM (Carbon DLS TM).

CCM Hockey’s Super Tacks X with NEST Tech is a digitally 3D printed lattice-structured liner that offers superior breathability, premium comfort and elute protection.

Why is this helmet so special?

This next-generation helmet is customized to each athlete’s head and with its unique lattice design based on desired performance criteria and weight, it enables refined control of energy absorption and dissipation by aligning internal damping struts against the directions of impact to protect the players.

Using Carbon Design Engine software, the Super Tacks X with NEST Tech liner consists of over 130,000 individual structs. The lattice is built in a way that each struct is specially tuned at every point on the helmet. The stiffness of the lattice structure can be increase or decrease through precise adjustments to the thickness of each strut.

The custom-fit helmet will be available to all NHL players ahead of the 2021 season. Austin Matthews (Toronto Maple Leafs), John Tavares (Toronto Maple Leafs), and Seth Jones (Columbus Blue Jackets) were the three professional players played in this helmet during 2020 NHL season.
