What We Can Look Forward to at MTA 2017

Manufacturing Technology Asia 2017 (MTA 2017) is back. Come April, the manufacturing technology industry event will kick off new specialised zones at the event halls – The Optics & Photonics Innovation Hub, The Semiconductor Innovation Centre and 3D Printing @ MTA, in addition to the recurring Capabilities Hub.

“The new features are designed to serve industry players looking to leverage on technology and innovation to maintain their market leadership and stay ahead of the change curve,” says Mr William Lim, Project Director of Machinery Events at Singapore Exhibition Services and organiser of MTA2017.

3D Printing @ MTA

A 3D Printing Technology Tour and a new 3D Printing Seminar will be held to impart technological updates, opportunities, issues and challenges impacting the industry. Advances in 3D printing have seen the application of more materials and the creation of innovative solutions to the manufacturing industry.

Optics & Photonics Innovation Hub

This year, the Optics and Photonics Society of Singapore (OPSS), LUX Photonics Consortium and The Photonics Institute have collaborated to set up this specialised zone. It brings together industry and academic leaders, manufacturers and suppliers to showcase the latest research and innovative products. “The hub provides a platform for participating companies to showcase their products and services in the optics and photonics sector, and expand their industry and business networks effectively,” says Professor Tjin Swee Chuan, Chairman of LUX Photonics Consortium.

Semiconductor Innovation Centre

Visitors can get up close and personal with the advanced semiconductor manufacturing technologies and solutions made for the evolving global electronics market. Harnessing these technologies and solutions will enable the industry to compete in the global market.

Capabilities Hub

Organised in partnership with SIMTech, the  Capabilities Hub gathers local parts and component manufacturers and service providers to highlight their manufacturing competencies in the high-value sectors of aerospace, complex equipment, medical technology and oil & gas.

This year, delegates will hear from more than 30 experts at The Smart Manufacturing Asia 2017 conference. The experts will share useful knowledge and strategies that can help companies level up manufacturing processes and deliver products more efficiently.

The conference will also cover Panel discussions with subject experts exchanging viewpoints on Industry 4.0, automation, robotics, IoT and more.
